Vacation Rental Robotics builds autonomous systems for luxury rental properties. Our first project is an indoor drone that takes timestamped pictures of a home before guests arrive and after they leave. If a question comes up later, the owner, the manager and the guest can all look at the same pictures.
The idea
The problem we started with.
A luxury rental changes hands every few days. After each stay someone has to decide whether the property is in the same condition as before, usually from memory and a few phone photos. When an owner and a guest disagree about a scratch or a stain, there is rarely a good reference to go back to.
We want that reference to be a normal part of every turnover. A machine goes through the home the same way each time and records what is there. The property manager still makes the decisions, with better material to work from.

The owner, the property manager and the guest can see the same timestamped pictures, so a question about damage can be answered by looking at them.

The system takes the pictures and keeps them in order. The property manager still decides what to do about them.

The drone flies the same path on every visit, so pictures from different dates show the same rooms from the same points.

Tested in a working portfolio
Everything we build runs in a client's portfolio of more than fifty luxury rentals, through normal turnovers, before we offer it more widely.
First project
An indoor drone that documents the property, before and after every stay.
The drone flies through the home on its own and takes pictures at the same points on every flight, each with a timestamp. It flies once before check-in and once after check-out. If something looks different afterwards, both sets of pictures are there to compare.

Who we are
We have been working with luxury vacation rental companies for more than ten years.
Our team has spent more than ten years providing services to luxury vacation rental companies, so we know the work between guests well. The drone project started with a question those companies deal with every week: what happened in a property between check-out and the next check-in.
The first deployment covers more than fifty luxury vacation rentals managed by one of our clients. We run each system there for a while before we offer it to other operators. Further projects for the rental business will follow the drone.
